The United Philippine Surfing Association (UPSA) is proud to announce its formidable longboard team set to compete at the prestigious International Surfing Association (ISA) World Longboard Championship in El Salvador from April 25 to May 1, 2025.
Representing the Philippines on the global stage are four of the nation’s top longboard surfers, accompanied by UPSA National Coaches Bjorn Pabon and Manuel Melindo.

Leading the charge for the men’s division is none other than Rogelio “Jay-R” Esquivel, Jr. With an impressive 2024 world ranking of #4 and holding the coveted #1 spot in the UPSA 2024 Men’s Longboard Division, Jay-R brings a wealth of experience and skill to the team.

Flying the Philippine flag in the women’s division are two exceptional talents. Mara Lopez, the reigning #1 in the UPSA 2024 Women’s Longboard Division, is poised to bring her signature style and competitive spirit to the shores of El Salvador. Alongside her is Daisy Dela Torre, who holds the #2 rank in the UPSA 2024 Women’s Longboard Division and is ready to make her mark on the world stage.
