The 14th Calicoan Odyssey Waves National Surfing Competition 2024 is brought to you by the Municipality of Guiuan in collaboration with the Province of Eastern Samar.
This event is organized by the Municipality of Guiuan together with the local surfing organizations of Calicoan Island: ABCD Surf, Calicoan Local Surfers, Samrayan Surfboards, and The Backyard Surf Co.
This competition is sanctioned by the United Philippine Surfing Association, and recognized by the Philippine Sports Commission and the POC – Philippine Olympic Committee – Olympic.PH.

For the beginners, it is best to come during the summer season (January to March) as the waves are only at 2 to 3 feet high.
- Accommodation: There are limited accommodation options near ABCD Beach, so it’s recommended to book accommodations in advance, especially during peak season.
- Transportation: To reach ABCD Beach, visitors can take a ferry from Matag-ob Port in Leyte to Calicoan Island and then rent a motorcycle or tricycle to get to the beach. Fior a more convenient alternative, you may take a flight to Tacloban City then travel by land for 2 hours to Calicoan Island.
